What is the inspiration behind your piece?: Various of things that I've seen online that I wanted to combine into one piece.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: I love making abract trippy pieces because I find them fun to make and I can combine different things I like.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: My art was inspired by the watercolor background for this piece. The dragons seemed to emerge effortlessly as I began to draw hence the name Emergence.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: Subject was inspired by a visit to the Panda preserve in Chundu, China, several years ago. We were able to get up close to observe these beautiful animals and take lots of photos

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: The bravery of red riding hood to conquer her fears in the dark wolf-laden woods.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: Similar to Alice's experience in the flower garden, I had a whimsical and inspirational experience surrounded by a large field of sunflowers. I was on the way home from my friend's celebration of life when I stopped at a roadside farm to talk with the flowers. The weather was stormy that day and the bright yellow of the sunflowers contrasted nicely with the moody sky. I took some photos which I then knew I wanted to re-create in mixed media.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: The mad hatter has always been my favorite character from the novel. I imagined him in a state of melancholy. I believe his emotions are something many people can relate too. To balance out his obvious sadness, I added bright and happy colors.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: I was inspired by the morning mist rising through the fields along the Sand Hill Trail in the Silver River State Park.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: I have secrets; you have secrets; she has secrets. Even as she hides her thoughts behind her fan, her smile hints that she longs to share them with me. If I have patience, perhaps she will speak with me. If I gaze long enough, perhaps I will find her secrets in her eyes. Combining my photographs with encaustic wax techniques, I weave elements into visual stories with textures and layers of meanings. The story starts in my imagination, then I release it to be kindled in the fire of the imaginat

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: She, Alice, cannot see the world clearly. She displays loneliness in her eyes with confusion.

What is the inspiration behind your piece?: The fifth in a personal series focused on positive and whimsical depictions of Black and Brown women that I didn't see growing up. This one is made of colored pencils on hot-pressed watercolor paper. Inspired by the plants in my grandmother's garden, I tried to keep the focus and most of the color in the pieces on the florals and on her curly hair.
