The painting has definitive interpretation to me; there is angel among us in this garden; inspired by my grandmother telling me since she was a small child that red cardinals in the garden were actually angels, I painted this after my grandmother, the most avid gardener I knew passed away, and one day shortly after, I was followed around intrepidly by a red cardinal in my own garden space. In the painting you can see the angel in the distance, who is presumably strolling through the garden.
