I work with found papers and papers with interesting textures. These coupled with hand painting, become my palette. Together with a vision in my mind's eye I shall never forget and a hope of returning again soon, my fingers rip and tear what my mind sees.
Why mountains? For me, the high elevation and thin air make it nearly impossible for me to breathe. Perhaps it is in these moments when I am surrounded by a beauty I feel surely what heaven must be like, I am reminded I am still alive.
As I work in my studio for hours painting papers to ripping said papers to gluing them down to create a painting, I cherish the opportunity to intertwine a bit of my soul to create a story within a painting. One only needs to step closer, hunt for the clues, and be open to how we are connected through something far more beautiful than my painting.
