StatementI grew up in a family of doers. From my earliest memory, I learned and created what was needed with what I had on hand, fostering ingenuity and self-reliance. I have always loved to create, often reinventing the wheel, which taught me patience, perseverance and deepened my appreciation for the artist. I believe one can discover joy in the simplest of things, in those that are often overlooked.
My inspiration comes from nature, vintage artifacts, and memories. I seek to capture enduring moments in my artistic style: thoughtful, yet with a little whimsy. I work with various mediums– watercolors, oils, illustrations, and Lino printing. I create my watercolors, particularly my Fine Art Master works, by building multiple layers for a deep rich hue, a technique inspired by the masters of oils. The innate blending of hues reflects differently in the transitioning light of the day. I’m inspired by the possibilities and evolution the original pieces present as they await the next layer of color or detail.
