Jillian Ramsammy

Jillian works primarily in acrylic on canvas, layering wet on wet glazes of intense colors, voluminous shapes and fluid lines. 

My paintings are an ongoing exploration of the lines, shapes and forms in nature and in life. In nature, I find a world that is brilliant, diverse and satiating. Within, I find boundless mystery. Making art gives me the time to look around, over and beneath my thoughts, search for meaning and purpose and encounter joy. Through my paintings I begin a conversation, first with myself, then with others. I am influenced by the colors and rhythms of my Caribbean heritage. I hope to inspire deep curiosity and contemplation.
